Thomas Parry, Ph.D.
President
Thomas Parry is President of the Integrated Benefits Institute and serves as IBI’s Chief Executive Officer.
In addition to directing IBI’s activities, he also is heavily involved in IBI’s research program. Most recently, he directed research on a study analyzing the impact of linking medical care and disability data, and directed research on how Chief Financial Officers link workforce health to business outcomes. He also was principal investigator on a national survey of employer current programs and future plans to manage health and related productivity, and on research examining the linkage between non-occupational health care episodes, disability and productivity outcomes.
Dr. Parry speaks on integrated benefits and health and productivity issues at conferences and symposia in the United States and internationally. He also served for five years as research advisor to the Roadway Express Inc. Medical Board.
Before co-founding the Integrated Benefits Institute, Dr. Parry served 11 years as Research Director at the California Workers’ Compensation Institute. His research at CWCI encompassed a wide variety of topics in workers’ compensation, including medical treatment patterns, vocational rehabilitation costs and effectiveness, legal costs and trends, medical utilization, mental stress claims, and physical therapy patterns of care. While at CWCI, Dr. Parry was engaged in some of the earliest research and analysis on 24-hour coverage and integrated benefit issues.
Dr. Parry received his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.
