Mental Illness is Common, Untreated and Costly to Productivity

In July of 2014, Brian Gifford, IBI Research Director facilitated a panel titled "The Impact of Mental Health Issues on your Workforce and How to Mitigate the Effects of Stress, Depression, and Caregiving Issues" and featured speakers from Google, Union Bank, and Caring.com. To show the productivity impact of two mental health disorders-depression and anxiety, IBI pulled statistics from its benchmarking databases to compare results with diabetes which has well-known disabling and even life-threatening complications for employees.
