IBI’s latest tool, the Full Cost Estimator (FCE), can help.

The FCE combines all the major components of illness-related business costs in a single online tool, including absence, disability, presenteeism and opportunity costs. The FCE is based on millions of disability claims in IBI’s Benchmarking data, the Health and Productivity Questionnaire (HPQ), and nationally-representative data from the CDC and BLS.

What's New?

The FCE is now an online tool. Begin by selecting an industry and providing a headcount. That’s all the information the tool needs to generate a model based on industry averages. You can then refine the model based on your company’s own benefits policies.

From there, users can customize the inputs further and also explore a new feature – prediction sliders.

What Does FCE Do?

Users can generate estimates of healthcare, absence, disability, WC, FMLA, presenteeism and opportunity costs based on their headcount and industry. Adding information about compensation, benefits eligibility, and wage replacement policies will produce findings targeted towards specific companies.

A portion of the FCE is available for free to all IBI members.

New to FCE?

The Full Cost Estimator reports on the expected total costs of health for a company.
It combines all of the major components of health-related business costs—medical, absence, disability, performance and productivity—into a single tool, drawing on national databases, IBI’s health assessment survey (the HPQ Select) and millions of disability, workers’ compensation, and FMLA claims from IBI’s benchmarking program. For those new to IBI tools, this is a great way to get started.
